Neighbouring Co-production Meeting – education day

On Monday, 16 November, the Meeting addressed the issue of Established and New Filmmaking Methods. After a welcome address by Sabina Briški from the MEDIA desk Slovenija, the guests were greeted by the Deputy Director of the European Commission Representation in Slovenia, Andrej Beloglavec.
The first lecture was delivered by Asta Wellejus, a longstanding collaborator to director Lars von Trier and founder of Die Asta Experience Production House, which deals in interactive solutions for various institutions in Denmark and elsewhere. Among others, she talked about the new methods of films marketing via new media (internet, mobile technology, alternative reality games). She handed over to Wendy Bernfeld, Director of Rights Stuff Amsterdam, who discussed the legal aspects of collaboration, rights, contracts as well as new marketing and distribution regulations in the era of digital media.
The round-table discussion entitled The Use of New Technology at the Time of Film Development, Production and Distribution was scheduled for noon. The discussion was conducted by a representative of the MEDIA desk Denmark, Ene Katrine Rasmussen.
The afternoon part of the Meeting was commenced by Jonathan Olsberg from Olsberg/SPI, an expert in counselling on the political and business matters in the field of film, TV and new media. The Italian tax model was elucidated by Ludovica Baldan from the Tax Department of the Italian Audiovisual Agency ANICA, and the Hungarian model expounded by producer Agnes Havas from Havas Films. The Meeting was concluded by Cay Wesnigk from ONLINEFILM AG with a presentation of the commercial VOD (video-on-demand) project www.onlinefilm.org.
