Handler moustache

Handlebar Moustache by Iranian director Javad Ardakani has been classified into the children’s films section but is indubitably worth seeing also by adults. With his soul-stirring story about the purity of a child’s mind and the almost forgotten values, the director, who visited Ljubljana to present his film, decided to use the children’s film format, as he believes that today children should be taken more seriously, we should listen to them and strive at achieving the purity of children’s thinking and their ability of forgiveness.
The film aims at upholding the ancient Iranian sayings and customs that have almost disappeared with the advancement of society. Human values that once stood for the bases of society have been annihilated.
Ardakani is proud of the development the Iranian cinema has made within the last thirty years. Although the Iranian audiences are most interested in commercial films, comedies mostly, he believes in the value of films about humanity and cultural tradition.
