Adventureland: Gabe Klinger and contemporary American cinema

This year again LIFFe is hosting an old friend, Gabe Klinger, a film critic and lecturer, who delivered a short lecture on the tendencies of the contemporary American cinema. The 20th LIFFe features the following American directors: Jim Jarmusch (Limits of Control), Craig Baldwin (Mock Up on Mu) and Greg Mottola (Adventureland). These films are distinguished from the kitsch Hollywood production by a more personal approach, considerably lower market value and smaller, but heartier audiences. The hearty response from the Slovenian spectators outstripped the quiet, unremarkable premieres at home.
